Unity Pavilion

The Unity Pavilion, located on the Crown Road in the International Zone, was started as a seed and catalyst for the overall development of Auroville's International Zone. Today it consists of the Unity Hall, the Hall of Peace, office space, a Geodesic Dome, an outdoor eating space, and hosts a wide variety of events.

Cultivating a Spirit of Unity

The Unity Hall offers space for a wide range of activities such as exhibitions, cultural events, presentations and lectures, workshops and community meetings. The Hall can hold up to 250 people and has proved to be very versatile in its use.

The Hall of Peace was inaugurated on 11 February 2014 and is the home for the Peace Table of Asia. Regular "Peace" meditations take place, and other programmes around the Peace Table are being developed.

The office building provides office space for the Unity Pavilion management team, Peace Research, the International Zone Coordination Team, Pavilion Groups, Auroville International, and Koodam (Auroville's platform for conflict resolution and facilitation).

The Geodesic Dome is used for outdoor circle sustainable dev meetings and dialogue sessions, and the outdoor eating space for evening gatherings and cultural events that include food and refreshments.

The focus of the work in the Unity Pavilion covers topics such as human unity, world peace, east-west and north-south relations, sustainable development and human potential, development of the International Zone, and the interaction of cultures that defy national borders.

Call of Peace - Table of Asia

A campaign aimed at fostering peace across Asia through collaborative dialogues, advocacy, and regional cooperation.

The Ideal of Human Unity

Inspired by Sri Aurobindo's book, this initiative includes book readings, comparative studies, and cross- disciplinary analyses to explore and apply his vision of human unity. It will also support the establishment of IHU chapters globally to further his ideals.

Sourcing Our Oneness

Aurobindonian community engagement through retreats and workshops designed to bring together members and deepen the sense of collective unity and shared purpose.

Art for Auroville

An initiative to raise funds for Auroville while promoting and celebrating its art and cultural heritage through exhibitions and events.

Programs and Activities

Cultural and Artistic Events

Organize art exhibitions, cultural performances, and film festivals to showcase global unity themes. Initiate an artist-in-residence program to promote peace through art, expanding Auroville’s cultural reach.

Community Engagement Initiatives

Facilitate community dialogues, themed discussion circles, and storytelling nights to foster local collaboration. Host open mics, talent shows, and community action days to strengthen bonds and promote shared values.

Education

Offer workshops, seminars, and lectures on peace, cultural awareness, and sustainability. Provide interactive children’s sessions to instill the importance of unity, enhancing understanding through education and engagement.

Research and Development

Advance global peace through collaborative research, fellowships, and an online hub. Host major summits, publish influential journals, and develop innovative projects and facilities to support impactful peace initiatives.

Outreach and Collaboration

Engage globally with communities, educational institutions, and organizations to promote peace. Forge partnerships with international peace and cultural organizations, and involve youth in peacebuilding and cultural exchange programs.
